“Chain Bridge Crossing” – a book by Julie Barshinger

In December 1944 during the siege of Budapest, a young Hungarian girl named Piri volunteers to deliver secret documents across the Danube River to save Jewish children hiding in the city. Julie’s historical fiction novel, “Chain Bridge Crossing” follows Piri on her challenging journey.

Note: Author, Julie Barshinger lived in Budapest, Hungary for two years. During her stay she interviewed many of the survivors of the siege of Budapest. Their stories inspired Julie to write this book.
